We went to Seaside this weekend to play at the beach, and I decided to write a poem for my sweet Mitchell.... So here it is.....

THE SEA STAR

One day a young crab scampered next to a star

He shouted, "Someday I'll explore wide and far!

"I'll meet turtles, and sharks, and fish of all sizes

"There'll be adventure, and danger, and lots of surprises

"Wont you envy my life..." said the crab to the star

"... That I can go live while you're stuck here like tar?"

The starfish then sighed and said softly, "Young man,

"I've already lived greater than you ever can

"You see this dear rock where I cling tightly so

"We've developed a love more than you'll ever know

"We'll stick to each other from start to the end

"You keep your adventures, and I'll keep my best friend."

So the crab left the star, but he never forgot

That lesson of love that that wise sea star taught.
