When was the last time I did an honest-to-goodness journal entry. Just a simple "Jesse check-in" where I talk about how my week has been going? It seems like I always need some sort of deep subject or an extra spectacular event to blog about... NOT TODAY! I'm just gonna let my fingers glide across the keyboard with unorganized, scattered thoughts about what I've been up to. I'm just so excited for this! It's so new and different for me....
So, hey! Life is great! Ever since we've moved to Vegas, things have been aligning perfectly. I know, from the bottom of my heart, the Lord is in control and that we were supposed to move here for a reason!
We love our apartment! We feel so fancy with our stairs in the middle of the room. Too bad we don't have any visitors ever to show it off to. Everybody come visit us!
It's funny when we tell people we live in North Las Vegas. They're eyes get really wide and I think they think we're going to be murdered. It's really not that scary to us. I think we're in this little tucked-in neighborhood or something, because we feel completely safe and comfortable. Our complex is gated, and we have a security guard patrolling the place. He kind of reminds me of Dwight Schrute as a volunteer sheriff deputy. And that makes us feel even safer.
I was so nervous about finding a job before we got here, but it has been zero percent stressful so far! I love my amazing cousins, Katrina and Regan. They've been putting me to work and they are pretty much the best bosses ever! I get to be a nanny and drive their minivan all over town. And if anyone needs an invisishield professionally installed to their iPad or cell phone.... psh... you know who to call!
I've also been making progress working towards that Zappos job. Except I don't want to get my hopes up, and maybe I should change my mind and not write about this on my blog yet, in case I never get it. This way I wont have to go through that awkward phase where someone down the road walks up to me and says, "So, what ever happened with that Zappos job??" "Um.... K, bye."
We went to our new ward on Sunday. LOVED IT! What we love about this ward is it's pretty tiny. It reminds me of the La Pine ward. Everyone knows everyone and they are so, so friendly. Also, I think they're all grandmas. LoL. There was probably two babies in the whole ward. Remember when Mitch and I taught six sunbeams in Salem? ... I think there's six children total in primary. It makes me so happy.
Other than that, there's not much going on. We're just moving forward. Every time I watch a plane going towards the airport I can't help but smile thinking of Mitch. This is so real. We've lived here for like three weeks now. Holy-Shamoly!
