i LoVe ThE WaRm WeAtHeR!!!

I am in SUCH a great mood today!  When I went out to lunch, the cashier asked how my day was going, and I enthusiastically replied, "Today is a FANTASTIC day!  It's WARM OUTSIDE, and life is PERFECT!"  I seriously haven't been able to stop smiling all day.  I ate lunch at the park.  Just me and the geese, sharing some sea-salt french fries, and soaking up the sun!
It's kinda crazy how excited I am for the weather this year, maybe I had a rough winter or something, but I can't contain my happiness.  I can't stop looking at all our pictures that take me back to all my favorite things about spring/summer.

THE BEACH
My absolute favorite place to be!  Today on the phone I was ordering tickets for a lady with the last name "Beach" and I couldn't stop myself and told her that I was super jealous because she had the best possible last name imaginable!
Doesn't everything stressful in life dissolve when you take that first step in the warm sand with your bare feet?  This place was the pinnacle of fun when I was a child!  I'd build sand castles with my cousins every other summer at Dillon Beach.  This is where Mitchell asked me to marry him.  And where you can watch the sea stretch out past forever and you realize how truly insignificant you are and grasp the overwhelming beauty of this Earth that's been created for us.

GRASS FIELDS
One thing my family is amazing at is planning huge sports nights at Big Sky Park.  We call it our "park sessions."  We play soccer, baseball, kickball, and frisbee on summer nights until it's too dark to see anything.  You just wanna RUN 'til your lungs stop breathing.  And even though it's late, you're still wearing shorts and a T-shirt because the temperature is so nice.  It's just such a beautiful thing.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
One girl I work with always takes a smoking break half way through the day.  And I don't really know how to explain this, because I've never been a fan of smoke, but this is one hundred percent an exception!  I get so excited when she gets back from her break and the faint aroma fills the room.  I don't know if it's her brand of cigarettes or what, but that smell always gives me a rush and reminds me of the summer local events.  The Oregon State Fair, Munch 'n' Music, and the Seaside Boardwalk!  The scent takes me back and carries me away to my happy place for three or four minutes before the air slowly fades back to normal.

CAMPING
Love it!  I have a feeling Mitch and I are gonna be "that family" that goes camping every-other day and our kids get so sick of it!  But how can a person possibly get sick of camping, I mean, seriously?  Camp fires, setting up tents, playing cards, and Hobo Dinners!  And just the idea of being really, really DIRTY.  I think half the fun is right when you get back home and take that super long shower and feel fresh again.  *So much fun*

SUMMER NIGHTS
Rewind back to my childhood, back to our little green house on Avonlea Circle.  There was a leaky sprinkler right outside my bedroom window.  And there was always a little froggy family that lived there.  I know, this sounds too good to be true, right?  But every time we played in the backyard, without fail, we could run back and find four or five frogs hoping around in that puddle of water.  And on summer nights I would fall asleep to their beautiful melody as they croaked and harmonized with the distant crickets.  It was some sort of security blanket for me that always made me feel safe.
Today we have a little iPod app that plays white noise and ambient sounds.  You better believe I switch on that Amazon Jungle track whenever I need those comforting sound of frogs on summer nights :)

  1. SO TRUE! When the weather is warm, I am so much happier too. There is just so much more to do in the summer time!
