LoLz

Life is tough.  I totally get that.  I realize that the grass always looks greener on the other side and that no matter what stage of life you’re in, there’s always going to be problems and trials to overcome.  However, I honestly do believe that there are times in life that are harder or easier than others.

There have been perfect times.  There have been moments where everything went right.  Everyone was healthy, everyone was happy, perfect weather, no troubles, and no cares.  Everything felt fresh and the colors of life looked bright and vibrant!

So, I think it’s fair to say that there have also been some not-so-perfect times. Times when everything went perfectly wrong.  Times when life was tougher than normal where you had a right to say, “Life is really hard right now!” and no one could try to justify it and challenge you that ‘life is always hard so suck it up!’ Because it’s not always this hard, sometimes it’s easier than this.

The good thing about the lowest-of-lows is that you can pump yourself up and say it’s gonna get better someday and it can only go up from here (like Shania Twain tells us)

Recently, piles and piles of bad luck have kept punching us in the face!  It felt like ONE. THING. AFTER. ANOTHER. Yesterday, we got in the car and turned it on, and the engine started rumbling and we knew it was broken. Ah yes, another thing to worry about.  We were both silent for about 20 seconds, stared at each other for a while, then busted out LAUGHING!  HA HA HA!  “REALLY!?!  REALLY!?!”

I think over the past couple of years the Lord has really been trying to help me work on patience.  Right now, I can look back at everything we've been through and say he has turned this struggling weakness of mine into a strength.  I'm grateful for really bad days.  I know it's all going up from here.  I’m so glad I have my best friend to go through all of this with!  No matter what happens, we can always laugh with each other.

And the Lord is always there to watch out for us.  He'll never give us more than we can handle.  He's always giving so many countless blessings.  I'm so grateful for tithing and the blessings that come from it.  I'm so grateful for trials that make us stronger.  And I'm so grateful for laughter.

"The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it.  You either have to laugh or cry.  I prefer to laugh... crying gives me a headache."
