SaVaNnAh, GeOrGiA

I love spontaneous trips!  I had a long weekend off and we needed a break, so we packed our bags, bought a huge bag of SNYDER'S Honey Mustard and Onion Nibblers, and headed for Savannah.  Um... and I've officially decided that Marriott hotel connections ROCK!

Our first stop was the Historic Wormsloe Plantation.

Absolutely gorgeous oak trees border your path for a mile and a half.  It looks like it should be in a movie!  OH WAIT... it is.

(around 1:24)

Once we got to the town we mostly walked around by the river.  We hopped on some ferries and hung out until it got dark, then whipped out the headphones for ANOTHER spooky self guided ghost tour (Gotta admit though, St. Augustine's Tour was a lot cooler).

Can I talk about our ghost tour of crazy nutzos-ness?  This house has many recorded hauntings. This used to be a funeral home, and our tour narrator claimed the man who lived here's favorite place was the cupola off the fourth floor and "claimed" that's where a bunch of ghostly shenanigans have taken place.  Not scared.  Aaaaaaand then we took a photograph. Anyone ever heard of cameras picking up apparitional activity with lens flares? Check it!

CLOSE UP

Zero editing has been done to this picture since we snapped it! (Besides close up cropping and circling) At first, we laughed, "Coincidence!" then took it from a different angle... And picked up this!

CLOSE UP

Now, I'm not gonna jump to conclusions... I'm just giving you the facts. Believe what you want, but ... shoot.

The next morning we walked through Forsyth Park and took pictures at the fountain.  There was a live concert going on, and there was a family sitting next to a kiddie pool filled with baby bunnies for sale.  We walked up and one of the little boys grabbed one and handed it to me.  It was so precious.  It took a lot of strength to walk away without buying one.  How can you not melt when you look in those eyes?!?

After that we stopped inside the St. John's Catholic Cathedral.  It was stunning!  So beautiful, and so peaceful.  I could have sat in there for hours.  As I walked from one end to the other, soaking in the art of the stain glass windows, I felt like Esmeralda, and I wished I was a gypsy and I wished I was singing.

The rest of the day we casually stopped at fun spots we'd find on the way home.  So many friendly people in Georgia!  It was a perfect little trip to shake up our routine and feel refreshed. I love vacations :)
